Yes, it's horrible that (for example) your beloved relative passed away. Of course they need a way to deal with it, they need to emotionally separate themselves otherwise they'd commit suicide after 6 months on the job. These people deal with death, pain, suffering, and the lowest points in the lives of the people they're helping every single day only to go home that night and do it all again the next day. It's such a good show for things like that, being able to bounce between something really silly and funny and then something that puts your mortality in perspective, and none of it feeling forced or out of placeįorgive me if this isn't what you're saying, but it really gets to me when people talk shit about doctors having humour.
